Zainab Murder case: Prime suspect assigned govt lawyer
LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab prosecutor general on Wednesday assigned Imran Ali, prime suspect in the rape and murder case of minor seven-year-old Zainab Ansari in Kasur, a government lawyer, Mohammad Sultan after his counsel’s withdrawal today.
According to Punjab prosecutor general, Muhammad Sultan has been assigned as the lawyer of the Imran Ali.
On Wednesday, the defense lawyer of the suspect had informed the court that after the suspect’s confession, his conscience doesn’t not permit him to represent a hardened criminal.
After recording the statements of witnesses, the court will tomorrow record the statement of Imran Ali.
A total of 56 witnesses have been named in the case, while 36 witnesses have recorded their statements.
