Zardari, Fazlur Rehman exchanges views on country’s political situation
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former president and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari called on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman on Thursday at his residence.
During the meeting, both the leaders exchanged views on the political situation of the country. They also expressed dissatisfaction on performance of the incumbent government. Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandiwala was also present in the meeting.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman denounced the violence and arrest of PPP workers. He said that the activities of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) are only based on the political revenge rather than accountability process.
“The leaders have not eligible to run the street and Mohallah, however, how they can run the affairs of the country,” the JUI-F chief mentioned. “The government is not serious to implement National Action Plan properly,” he added.
On the occasion, the former president said that the current government has been failed to provide relief to the nation and busy to take only actions against opposition on behalf of political revenge.
Asif Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto record statements before NAB
A day earlier, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto and co-chairman Asif Zardari recorded their statements before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the mega money laundering case on Tuesday.
A five-member team interrogated Bilawal Bhutto, while Asif Zardari was investigated by 11-member team for one hour. Both were given a 20-question questionnaire each and asked to submit the reply till March 30.
Bilawal Bhutto expressed his dissociation from the fake accounts case. “It is beyond understanding why I have been included in the case. I have never done corruption. The NAB should keep the facts in mind. I hope the NAB will not summon me again,” he said.
About the Park Lane case, he said that he was very young when the company was formed.
He requested to submit the written replies to some questions.
In his statement, Asif Zardari said that the Park Lane Company matter is 28-year-old and remember it a little. The audio and video statement was recorded.
Both leaders were accompanied by several party leaders including Assefa Bhutto.
