LAHORE (92 News) – Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that his father Asif Ali Zardari is ready to face all the cases, terming the cases are fake and baseless against Zardari.

Talking to the journalists in Lahore on Sunday, the PPP leader said that the joint investigation team (JIT) formed to probe multi-billion rupees fake bank accounts case was formed on political grounds and the report it presented to the accountability court was ‘fake’.

Opposition being targeted in name of accountability, says Bilawal Bhutto

“We are responding legally to the JIT report in the court. While, countering political attacks through political manoeuvring,” Bilawal Bhutto said. “I have been hearing about arrest of Zardari since I was one. We are common and ideological politicians and we do not fear prisons,” he added.

The PPP chairman said Zardari’s replies in the JIT report were deliberately censored. Zardari had replied the JIT in writing, he added. “Zardari’s defence is nowhere to be found in the JIT,” he said.

Ruling out possibilities of forming a grand opposition alliance, Bilawal said his father Asif Ali Zardari’s meeting with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman last night should not be seen in this context. “I think no effort is being made for a grand alliance,” he added.

PPP can topple PTI govt in a week if Zardari allows, claims Bilawal

To a question regarding appointing the incumbent NAB chairman during the tenure of previous government, Bilawal said, “Was PPP so strong in opposition that it appointed NAB chairman? Even if we appointed [him] it is still responsibility of the appointed person to act according to the Constitution and not come under any pressure from government.”

Why choose a job if you haven’t command on it, Zardari lambasts on govt

Earlier today addressing a rally in Badin, Zardari had said that his late wife Benazir Bhutto entrusted him with the responsibility of the nation and that former prime minister’s government was ‘taken away’ from her.
