ISPR DG lauds Sammy’s role to bring back int’l cricket in Pakistan

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Tuesday lauded the role of West Indies all-rounder and Peshawar Zalmi captain Daren Sammy’s role to bring back international cricket in Pakistan. Darren Sammy met with ISPR DG Major Gen Asif Ghafoor. During the meeting, the DG ISPR lauded the cricket star’s role for promotion of cricket in Pakistan. “You have a lot of love for Pakistan and Pakistan’s people too love you very much especially for promoting cricket in Pakistan,” the ISPR director general said while admiring to Sammy. The Pakistan Army spokesperson said international cricket was not taking place in Pakistan in the past but the country now would see international teams playing here because of the confidence instilled by the cricketer’s visits to the country. Maj gen Asif Ghafoor further told Sammy that in his next visit to Pakistan, he will be taken for matches at the Younis Khan stadium, North Waziristan. It is pertinent to mention here that Sammy is in the country ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) tournament scheduled to be played this month. Sammy thanked Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa for always encouraging the sport. “I want to thank army chief who has always given the go-ahead to have cricket in Pakistan. Hopefully, all the international cricketers playing PSL this year will take a trip. I have experienced it and it’s amazing. One of the best to play. The crowd is amazing.”
Tickets for PSL matches in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi available online
On the other hand, the tickets for the 4th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2019 matches in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi are now available online. The tickets for PSL are available on www.q-tickets.com, the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) official website for the tournament announced on Tuesday. Tickets for PSL matches in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi available online “Details about online Dubai and Pakistan leg tickets will be announced soon while box office ticket sales information for all five HBL PSL venues – Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Lahore and Karachi – will also be shared in due course,” it also said. Sharjah will be the centre stage for the HBL PSL matches for the fourth successive year, since the inception of the league in 2016. The emirate will host a total of eight games, said the statement.
