Imran Khan says Donald Trump does not believe in wars
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has said that in his understanding US President Donald Trump does not believe in wars.
In an interview with CNN, the prime minister said that during his visit to New York, the US president had asked him to play a role for cordiality in relations between the US and Iran.
Imran Khan said he discussed Trump’s offer with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, during his recent visit to Tehran. He said US-Iran relations are little bit more complicated and he would not go into much detail about it until there is some response from both the sides.
To a query, he expressed his optimism that there was realization on both the sides. To a question, PM Khan said, in his understanding, Donald Trump does not believe in wars.
PM expresses optimism over improvement in US-Iran ties
PM Imran Khan has expressed his optimism about possible improvements in the US-Iran ties which have been currently at the lowest ebb after Trump announced withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, followed by imposition of pressing sanctions.
Earlier addressing a joint news conference along with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani after their meeting in Tehran today, Imran Khan said in today’s meeting with President Hassan Rouhani, we also discussed the issues between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
The premier said Saudi Arabia is one of the closest friends of Pakistan and Riyadh has always helped us in all times of need. He said he strongly believes that any issue could be resolved through dialogue and talks. He said any new conflict in the region could have far reaching implications and sufferings of people.
