PM to hold meeting with Turkish President in Ankara today

ANKARA (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is in Turkey, will hold a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara today (on Friday). The two leaders will discuss the entire spectrum of bilateral relations besides regional and international issues of mutual interests. Prime Minister Imran Khan is accompanied by a high level delegation including Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umer and Minister for Planning Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar. Upon arrival at the airport, the premier was accorded a warm welcome by Turkish Minister for Trade Ms Ruhsar Pekjan, Konya Governor Cuneyit Orhan Toprak and Deputy Mayor Mithat at the airport. It is the first visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to brotherly nation Turkey after assuming office. A day earlier, the prime minister has said that the objective of his government is to provide maximum facilities to investors. Addressing Turkish industrialists and traders, he said that the one belt one road will increase mutual trade between both countries. “Pakistan is the country of 210 million people and a majority of them is young. It means Pakistan has a big market. We are trying to improve governance in Pakistan,” he said.

PM stresses need for increasing Pakistan-Turkey trade

Imran Khan said that the government is constructing five million low-cost houses and the project has ample opportunities of investment. “Pakistan is a good place for tourism. A half of the tallest mountains are located in Pakistan,” he maintained. PM Khan said that economic zones will be established in Pakistan under the CPEC. “Turks ruled the subcontinent for six centuries. The Muslims of the subcontinent had collected money to defend the Ottoman Empire,” he said. Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan reached Konya, Turkey on a two-day official visit. The Konya governor welcomed the prime minister and the delegation, including Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Planning Minister Khusru Bakhtiyar and Adviser to the PM Abdur Razzaq Dawood, accompanying him.
