Opposition decides to stage protest against mini budget

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The meeting of joint opposition parties was held at the chamber of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday. According to the details garnered, the joint opposition parties decided to stage protest against the mini-budget in the parliament during the meeting. In the meeting, the opposition also announced that they would not walk out from the assembly.  The attendees unanimously agreed to strongly oppose the mini-budget and protest against it in the National Assembly. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Marriyum Aurangzeb, Rana Taveer, Rana Sanaullah attended the meeting. Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman, Khursheed Shah, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Awami National Party’s Ameer Haider Khan Hoti were also in attendance. On the occasion, Pakistan Peoples’ Party senior leader Khursheed Shah said that the public is being suppressed third time within a year by mini budget. Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Rana Sanaullah said that the incumbent fovernment has been failed to deliver the masses. He also demanded the resignations of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Sahiwal incident. Meanwhile, PPP leader Naveed Qamar told the attendees that in the first mini-budget, the government imposed taxes worth Rs70 billion and are “now going to impose taxes of a further Rs170 billion.
Opposition agrees to form joint strategy about national issues
On Jan 15, the opposition parties have agreed to form a special committee to evolve a joint strategy about important national issues in and outside the parliament. The decision was taken at a meeting of opposition leaders at the Parliament’s House on Tuesday. A meeting of the opposition leaders took place today under the chair of Shehbaz Sharif. Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PPP senior leader Naveed Qamar also attended the meeting. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Asadur Rehman, Awami National Party’s Amir Haider Khan Hoti and other leaders were in attendance at the meeting in Shehbaz’s chambers.
